COMMUNITY GUIDE

Finding your place and building community connections

Feeling connected begins with knowing where to look and who to ask. Start by identifying your immediate need—housing, food, employment, health, education, childcare, transportation or social connection. The TTIH Resource Hub organizes reliable starting points by category.

You do not need to navigate everything alone. Call 2-1-1 for confidential help locating Ontario community services, browse the verified links above, attend a TTIH event, or send our team a resource-support request. Building community can begin with one conversation, one activity or one useful referral.

COMMUNITY WELLBEING

Why belonging matters for individuals and families

Belonging is the feeling that we are seen, respected and able to participate. It can grow through shared meals, art, volunteering, cultural exchange, community events and simple opportunities to meet neighbours.

TTIH creates inclusive spaces for people of different backgrounds, ages, abilities and life experiences. Our wellness work focuses on awareness, education, connection and referrals—not medical care or emergency services. The Resource Hub can help visitors find appropriate professional and community supports.

Six meaningful ways to strengthen your community

Community support can take many forms: volunteer at an event, donate useful items, make an online contribution, sponsor an activity, host a workplace collection or connect TTIH with a community partner.

Every contribution should match your capacity. Sharing an event, welcoming someone new to an activity or helping sort donated items can be valuable. Choose an option in the Get Involved section or contact the team to discuss an idea.
